en.Wedoany.com Reported - American Tungsten & Antimony (ASX:AT4) plans to enter the U.S. domestic critical minerals supply chain through the acquisition of the Del Sol refinery in Nevada and the White Spar antimony mine in Arizona.

Del Sol is a hydrometallurgical antimony flake refinery with existing permits allowing processing of up to 18,500 tons of feed material annually; the site also offers expansion space for producing ammonium paratungstate (APT) and high-value antimony products, including Regulus II antimony metal, antimony trisulfide, and sodium antimonate.

The binding agreement with Nexus Metals also involves the acquisition of the White Spar mine, which will supply feed material to the refinery. Since announcing the proposed acquisition, AT4 has begun restart and expansion planning at Del Sol while advancing regulatory approval processes to increase permitted processing capacity and add tungsten refining capabilities.

AT4 CEO Casper Adson stated that Del Sol is already built and permitted for antimony refining, while U.S. domestic antimony production capacity remains weak; combined with feed from White Spar and Antimony Canyon, AT4 gains a roadmap to produce antimony metal flakes domestically in the U.S. and access military-spec antimony products. He also noted that AT4 has begun planning tungsten APT expansion based on Del Sol's hydrometallurgical infrastructure to reduce U.S. dependence on tungsten supplies from foreign entities of concern.

Adson has held pre-application meetings with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) to discuss increasing Del Sol's permitted processing capacity from 18,500 short tons per year to approximately 100,000 short tons, as well as the pathway for permitting the added tungsten refining capacity. If approved, Del Sol would become the only refinery in the U.S. capable of producing both tungsten and antimony products.

AT4 has issued a request for proposals to international engineering firms covering antimony flake capacity expansion, as well as the addition of production circuits for Regulus II antimony metal, antimony trisulfide, sodium antimonate, and APT.

Upon completion of the acquisition, AT4 plans to restart and phase in the existing antimony flake circuit in the September 2026 quarter. The company expects that plant operating data will support expansion studies and future U.S. government funding applications. AT4 has begun assessing the work required for restart, including plant readiness, staffing, consumables, and expansion sequencing.

AT4 has also completed initial site visits and drone surveys of White Spar, with plans to conduct geological mapping, grab sampling, and drill target generation following the acquisition as part of a broader exploration program.
