Designated as P-2-28, the pier cap was placed atop a 7.864-meter-high pier using a 350-tonne mobile crane. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL), the project company, stated that this milestone paves the way for the subsequent construction of the elevated corridor, a project aimed at improving mobility convenience for this rapidly developing city.

The pier cap was cast at a dedicated precast yard located in Sector-33, Naharpur village, with dimensions of 10 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2 meters in height, before being transported to the installation site. This installation took place within one year of the construction contract award, with the transportation and lifting of the precast component carried out by specialized heavy lifting equipment. GMRL considers this a validation of the project's precision in construction organization across precasting, transportation, and on-site installation.

The pier cap is a critical load-bearing component in an elevated metro bridge, connecting the pier to the superstructure and supporting the U-shaped girders that carry the tracks. With the first pier cap in place, the project will now progress to the installation of additional pier caps and the erection of U-shaped girders to advance the formation of the elevated corridor. Senior GMRL officials witnessed this milestone at the installation site, and Shri S.R. Sangwa, Director of Projects and Planning, acknowledged the project team for completing the installation on schedule, while emphasizing the need to maintain the highest standards of safety, construction quality, and on-time delivery in subsequent works.
