Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 22, On August 20, Li Auto began nationwide deliveries of its new six-seat all-electric SUV, the Li i8, across 44 cities in China, marking a significant expansion into the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment. The company aims to deliver over 8,000 units by the end of September, with plans to increase that target to 10,000 in coordination with suppliers, seeking to have as many vehicles as possible in customers’ hands ahead of China’s National Day holiday.

The Li i8, Li Auto’s first fully electric SUV, was launched on July 29 with three trim levels priced between 321,800 yuan and 369,800 yuan. The Pro version starts at 321,800 yuan, the Max at 349,800 yuan, and the top-spec Ultra at 369,800 yuan. On August 5, Li Auto announced a streamlined lineup by standardizing the i8 Max as the sole configuration. The price was reduced to 339,800 yuan, including a premium audio system valued at 10,000 yuan, while a rear entertainment screen package is available as an optional add-on at no additional cost. Buyers of the Ultra model gain the same features at 369,800 yuan, and Pro buyers are offered a refund or upgrade.

Official specifications indicate the Li i8 measures 5,085 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,740 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. Its design features a steeply raked windshield, semi-enclosed wheels, and flush door handles, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.218Cd. The SUV also includes conventional swing doors, large wheels, and pronounced fender flares.

Inside, the Li i8 adopts Li Auto’s signature wraparound cabin design. The steering wheel reflects the brand’s familiar styling, paired with a central digital display. A panoramic roof comes with a physical sunshade, while rear passengers benefit from privacy blinds. Standard interior equipment includes a large rear entertainment screen, dual cupholders, and fold-out tables.

The Li i8 is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, with the front motor rated at 150 kW and the rear at 250 kW, delivering a combined output of 400 kW. This configuration aims to provide both strong performance and all-weather traction.

The launch of the Li i8 underscores Li Auto’s commitment to the BEV market and its strategy to meet growing demand for premium electric SUVs in China. By combining streamlined pricing, upgraded features, and nationwide delivery, Li Auto positions the i8 to compete effectively in the rapidly expanding domestic electric vehicle sector. The rollout also reflects the company’s focus on innovation in both design and technology, providing customers with an electric SUV that balances efficiency, comfort, and performance.
