Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 13, Tajikistan produced over 3.7 million tonnes of cement in the first nine months of 2025, an increase of 512,100 tonnes or 15.8% compared to the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT) expects cement production to continue growing, forecasting output of 4.62 million tonnes in 2026 and 4.82 million tonnes in 2027, a 4.3% rise from the previous year.
Cement prices have also increased, rising 9.4% since the start of 2025, driven by growing demand for construction materials. Tajikistan currently has 16 cement plants, with over 80% of production concentrated in three Tajik-Chinese joint ventures: Jungtsai Mohir Cement, Huaxin Gayur Cement, and Huaxin Gayur Sughd Cement.
New production capacities are also under development. Orien Invest is constructing a new cement plant in Qubodiyon district, Khatlon province, which is expected to become the country’s largest facility with an annual capacity of 1.8 million tonnes. The current largest plant is Tojikcement’s facility in Ismoilo Somoni, near Dushanbe, opened in 2023 with a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes per year.
The expansion of cement production positions Tajikistan as a key player in the regional cement market, supporting infrastructure and construction projects that drive domestic demand. The development of new plants and increasing production capacity also reflects strong investor confidence in the sector and ongoing collaboration with international partners.
The government’s forecasts indicate sustained growth in cement output, reflecting both rising domestic construction activity and the country’s ambition to strengthen its regional role in the building materials industry. Tajikistan aims to leverage its growing production to meet internal needs while exploring opportunities for regional supply.
Overall, the cement sector in Tajikistan is experiencing robust growth, supported by new investment, modernization of facilities, and rising demand for construction materials. The government and industry stakeholders are focused on maintaining production efficiency and expanding capacity to support economic development.
The rapid expansion of the sector underscores Tajikistan’s strategic focus on infrastructure development, urbanisation, and regional trade in construction materials. Cement output growth, coupled with rising prices, signals a strengthening market and continued momentum for the country’s construction industry.
Tajikistan’s cement sector is expected to continue growing over the next several years, with new projects and joint ventures further enhancing production capabilities and meeting increasing demand. This development reflects a broader strategy to consolidate Tajikistan’s position as a significant supplier in the regional construction materials market.
