Wedoany.com Report-Dec.2, U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports reached a new monthly record of 10.9 million metric tonnes in November 2025, marking the second consecutive month of all-time highs, according to preliminary data released by financial firm LSEG on Monday. The volume rose from 10.1 million tonnes in October despite November having one fewer day.

The increase was supported by higher output from the country's leading producers and more favourable operating conditions due to cooler weather. Cheniere Energy, the largest U.S. LNG exporter, shipped 4.6 million tonnes from its two Texas facilities in November, compared with 4.1 million tonnes the previous month. Venture Global LNG, the second-largest exporter, maintained shipments at 3.0 million tonnes.

Cooler temperatures along the U.S. Gulf Coast improved plant efficiency. Average temperatures in November were approximately 8 degrees Fahrenheit lower than in October, according to the U.S. National Weather Service data cited by LSEG.

Strong export volumes drove domestic natural gas demand for liquefaction to a record average of 18 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) during November, with daily rates exceeding 19 bcfd for the first time in the final week of the month. Henry Hub spot prices averaged $4.47 per million British thermal units in November, up from $3.36 in October.

Europe continued to be the primary destination, receiving 70% of total U.S. LNG exports, or 7.5 million tonnes, slightly higher than the 69% share in October. Turkey significantly increased purchases, taking 12 cargoes totalling 0.9 million tonnes, compared with only one cargo the previous month.

Shipments to Asia decreased to 1.75 million tonnes (16% of the total) from 1.96 million tonnes in October, reflecting softer spot demand in Northeast Asia. Latin America imported 0.66 million tonnes, while Egypt received 0.84 million tonnes to address local supply requirements.

European Dutch TTF benchmark prices averaged $10.40 per million British thermal units in November, down from $10.88 in October. The Japan Korea Marker averaged $11.25, a modest increase from $11.11 the prior month.

LSEG noted: "The arbitrage opportunity for U.S. LNG cargoes to Asia via the Cape of Good Hope remains shut, which will lead to a continued influx of flexible U.S. cargoes into Northwest Europe."

The sustained high export levels underline the growing role of U.S. LNG in global energy supply, particularly to markets seeking reliable volumes during periods of elevated seasonal demand.
