Wedoany.com Report on Feb 3rd, Latest data from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman shows that the country's non-oil exports reached approximately 5.002 billion Omani Rials, an increase of 10.3% compared to the same period in 2024. This growth reflects the enhanced competitiveness of Omani products in the global market and the effectiveness of expanding into new regional and international markets.

Data shows that the growth in non-oil exports is mainly attributed to the support of the integrated export development system, including external promotional activities, simplified procedures, participation in international exhibitions, and continuous improvement in product quality and sustainability. In terms of sector distribution, exports of base metals and related products exceeded 1 billion Omani Rials, ranking first; chemical product exports reached nearly 658 million Omani Rials, ranking second; and exports of electrical appliances and equipment were about 460 million Omani Rials. These products are mainly sold to Gulf Cooperation Council, Asian, African, and European markets, achieving diversification in both export products and destinations.
Undersecretary for Investment Promotion, Ibtisam Bint Ahmed Al-Farooqi, stated: "The excellent performance of non-oil exports reflects the effectiveness of national policies in enhancing economic competitiveness and diversification." She noted that the ministry is working to enhance the capabilities of local products, strengthen the readiness of Omani companies, and expand trade partnerships to increase the contribution of non-oil exports to the gross domestic product.
To support the development of non-oil exports, Oman launched the "Oman Export" initiative and its supporting digital platform in February 2025, aiming to modernize trade promotion mechanisms through public-private partnerships and improve global market access. Lubna Bint Mohammed Al-Harthy, Director of the Export Development Department, explained that the platform provides market data, advisory services, and directly connects Omani exporters with international importers. As of the end of September 2025, 365 companies had registered, with 37 applications being processed.
Regarding external promotion, Oman participated in 17 local and international exhibitions and events in 2025, securing several trade agreements and establishing new connections with importers in potential markets. Meanwhile, the country is formulating a national strategy for non-oil exports, which will assess the current situation, identify promising products and target markets, and address challenges faced by exporters. During 2025, the ministry prepared 67 trade statistical reports, conducted professional market research, and carried out over 20 field visits to factories to strengthen trade partnerships and open new markets for Omani products.
