Recently, with the T2 tower passing its completion filing, the Xujiahui Skyscraper project located in Shanghai's Xuhui District has been declared fully completed. The project covers an area of approximately 13.2 hectares with a total construction volume exceeding 1 million square meters. Construction began in 2014 and took 12 years to finish. Situated at the intersection of Hongqiao Road, Yishan North Road, and Gongcheng Road, the Xujiahui Skyscraper was jointly developed by Hong Kong's Sun Hung Kai Properties and Shanghai Construction Group. With a total investment of about HKD 40 billion (approximately RMB 33.4 billion), it is the largest investment project in Sun Hung Kai Properties' history.

The project was designed by master architect César Pelli, with the design inspired by Shanghai's city flower, the "Magnolia." Among the towers, the T2 tower, standing at 370 meters, has reshaped the skyline of the Puxi area, becoming the current tallest completed building in Puxi. The exterior of this skyscraper gradually transforms from top to bottom. The peripheral frame columns employ a slanted column design, with the maximum slope in the high-rise section reaching a ratio of 1:20. This structural approach aims to push the columns outward to increase interior space. The greatest engineering challenge came from underground. The deepest part of the T2 tower's foundation pit reaches 37.5 meters, equivalent to 12 underground floors, setting a new record for foundation pit depth in Shanghai. Furthermore, Metro Lines 9 and 11 pass through the middle of the foundation pit, requiring extremely high precision in deformation control during construction.

The Xujiahui Skyscraper project adopted a "master planning, phased implementation" model, with the Hongqiao Road site developed in six phases. From the first phase tower opening in July 2022, to the completion of the second phase podium last year, and now the completion of the T2 tower, each stage has been completed according to plan. Next, sections like the podium and hotel will open successively. As a new addition to Shanghai's Central Activity Zone, this skyscraper will complement commercial districts such as Nanjing West Road and Lujiazui, further enriching Shanghai's commercial landscape.
