Nasdaq-listed Namibia Mining announced that dewatering activities at its Redwing Mine in Zimbabwe have officially commenced, marking a crucial step in the company's $300 million gold revival plan. This progress aligns with the timeline set in the company's November 2025 business update, with dewatering work starting on January 29, 2026, aiming to create conditions for subsequent feasibility studies and engineering assessments.
Namibia Mining CEO Ibrahima Sory Tall emphasized the strategic significance of this milestone: "The dewatering at Redwing Mine is proceeding as planned and is an important milestone in the restart process. We are committed to building Namibia Mining into a mid-tier gold producer, with the goal of achieving meaningful reserve growth. The future restart of the Redwing Mine is a critical step towards this objective."
The dewatering of the Redwing Mine is a core component of Namibia Mining's larger $300 million investment plan. These funds are not only allocated for reviving the Redwing Mine but also include expansions at the Mazowe and How mines, demonstrating a positive outlook for Zimbabwe's gold sector. Tall recently inspected these mine sites, overseeing preliminary redevelopment work and highlighting the alignment of the company's strategy with national development goals.
Tall noted: "By implementing our strategy, we will develop world-class assets that directly support the Zimbabwean government's Vision 2030, while creating lasting value for our stakeholders."
Namibia Mining's $300 million investment plan also involves managing relationships within the Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) sector. The company adopts a sustainable engagement approach, promoting coexistence through structured collaboration, aiming to integrate ASM stakeholders into the value chain to protect assets and achieve complementary partnerships.
As dewatering work at the Redwing Mine progresses, Namibia Mining is setting a new benchmark in Zimbabwe's mining sector through its $300 million gold revival plan, showcasing the integration of responsible mining with inclusive development.
