en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 28th, According to LSEG ship monitoring data, a tanker carrying approximately 200,000 barrels of Russian fuel, originally bound for Cuba, arrived in Venezuelan waters on Friday.
The Hong Kong-flagged tanker "Sea Horse" loaded Russian diesel earlier this year via ship-to-ship transfer. Earlier this month, after lingering in the Atlantic for weeks, it diverted from Cuba to Venezuela, which is a blow to Cuba, which is facing a fuel shortage, as the island has experienced multiple power outages this month.
It is currently unclear why the "Sea Horse" remained at sea or changed its course. As of Friday, the tanker was located between Puerto El Palito and Puerto Cabello off the Venezuelan coast and had not yet unloaded its cargo, according to LSEG data.
Another Russian cargo, carried by the US-sanctioned tanker "Anatoly Kolodkin", was en route to Cuba on Friday. Data also shows that it could reach Cuban waters over the weekend if it does not divert or slow down. The vessel departed from Russia's Primorsk port, carrying approximately 650,000 barrels of crude oil.
In addition, two ships transporting humanitarian aid from Mexico to Cuba, including medicine and energy-related supplies, were reported missing on Thursday after failing to arrive in Havana as scheduled. The Mexican Navy stated that it had not received any communication from them and could not confirm their arrival.
