en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, BASF announced that it will increase prices for a series of amine products in North America effective April 6, 2026, with specific adjustments to be implemented according to existing contracts. The company stated that this price change is primarily driven by increased logistics costs and rising raw material prices, while global petrochemical market conditions and the situation in the Middle East are also adding pressure. This adjustment in amine product prices reflects the trend of upstream supply chain costs being passed down to downstream chemicals.

In this price adjustment, alkylalkanolamines (such as DMEA and MDEA) will increase by $0.10 per pound, 2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethanol will increase by $0.20 per pound, and dimethylisopropanolamine will increase by up to $0.20 per pound. Other amine products such as ethylenediamine, morpholine, and triethylamine will see price increases ranging from $0.10 to $0.15 per pound. These amine products, serving as intermediates, are widely used in the coatings industry as curing agents, neutralizers, and components of resins and additives.

BASF's amine product portfolio includes approximately 300 products, serving various sectors such as coatings, plastics, composites, and specialty chemicals. The company stated that it will continue to monitor market dynamics and adjust its product pricing strategy based on cost changes. This price adjustment covers the North American market, including major sales regions such as the United States and Canada. For long-term contract customers, specific price adjustment amounts will be executed according to contract terms. Relevant industry users may need to reassess their raw material procurement costs to address the impact of this amine product price increase.
