en.Wedoany.com Report, On March 26, the drainage tunnel for the Phase II project of the San'ao Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang, China, the first Hualong One (HPR1000) nuclear power project in the Yangtze River Delta region, officially entered the main excavation phase.

CGN's Zhejiang San'ao Nuclear Power Plant plans to construct 6 Hualong One nuclear power units, with 3 units currently under construction. Upon full completion, the project is expected to have an annual power generation capacity exceeding 54 billion kilowatt-hours, nearly equivalent to the current total electricity consumption of Wenzhou City. It can meet the annual production and living electricity demands of over 5 million people, reduce standard coal consumption by more than 16.35 million tons per year, lower carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 50 million tons annually, which is equivalent to adding over 120,000 hectares of afforestation area.
