Wedoany.com Report-Feb 9, Siemens Gamesa has been granted a certificate to develop a prototype wind turbine with a capacity of more than 21MW.

The SG DD-276 model could generate up to 21.5MW with a 276 metre rotor.

The prototype structure has been certified by DNV and has until 2027 to develop the model, according to the Danish wind turbine certification authority.

In Denmark is a requirement that wind turbines with a rotor area over 5 m2 have a valid certificate.

This is to ensure that wind turbines installed in Denmark are designed and produced in a safe manner.
