en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tata Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) to jointly establish a skill development ecosystem, supporting the development of up to 5,000 MW of clean energy capacity in Bhutan.

The core of this agreement is to cultivate a trained workforce for the operation and maintenance of the large-scale clean energy projects being advanced by both parties. Tata Power outlined this cooperation focus in a press release.
The training efforts will be executed by the Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), which will provide technical expertise, training facilities, course materials, and certification support. TPSDI is accredited by the National Safety Council of India and maintains partnerships with the National Skill Development Corporation and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training.
DGPC, on its part, will be responsible for organizing trainees and coordinating the implementation of training with relevant government departments in Bhutan.
The two parties have planned a phased training structure. The first phase focuses on pre-entry safety training and orientation for project workers; the second phase includes technical skills for construction activities, such as material handling and earthmoving equipment operation; the third phase is dedicated to specialized training for the operation and maintenance of clean energy assets.
As planned, Tata Power will obtain approval from the Indian government, while DGPC will secure permits from the Bhutanese government and relevant authorities.
Dasho Chhewang Rinzin, Managing Director of DGPC, stated that the project will support the workforce needs related to clean energy development and aligns with the national direction for workforce development.
