en.Wedoany.com Reported - Sunsure Energy has officially commissioned its 105 MWp solar project in Kabrai, Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, India, achieving grid connection just four months after signing the power purchase agreement. This plant is also the first solar project under Uttar Pradesh's Green Energy Corridor-II initiative to deliver green power to the grid.

Spanning 282 acres, the project is connected to the grid via a dedicated 7 km, 132 kV transmission line. Once operational, it is expected to generate over 167 million units of clean electricity annually and offset approximately 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

The overall transmission investment for the Uttar Pradesh Green Energy Corridor-II initiative is approximately INR 54 billion, undertaken by the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL) to build 21 substations and related infrastructure to transmit nearly 4,000 MW of solar power from the Bundelkhand region. Sunsure stated that the successful power transmission through the newly commissioned 220 kV Kabrai substation sets a precedent for subsequent corridor projects.

Currently, Sunsure operates 11 facilities in Uttar Pradesh with a total installed capacity of 365 MWp. The company aims to increase its installed capacity in the state to 500 MW by the end of fiscal year 2026, including a 125 MW / 500 MWh battery energy storage project.

The company supplies power to industrial customers such as LG Electronics, Kajaria Ceramics, Jindal Stainless, Dabur, and Bisleri.
