Jerome Cadier, President of LATAM Brazil, revealed this timeline at the International Air Transport Association Annual General Meeting (IATA AGM), noting that the aircraft type can help open new routes, improve overall products, and increase flight frequency in the existing narrow-body market.

Roberto Alvo, CEO of LATAM Airlines Group, stated that the first 24 E2 aircraft will be deployed in the Brazilian market, where LATAM currently holds a 40% domestic market share. The group also holds purchase rights for 50 additional aircraft. He explained that South America has 200 cities with populations between 200,000 and 500,000, half of which are in Brazil, and per capita travel in these cities is about one-tenth of that in major South American cities. While many large cities have high connectivity, smaller markets do not.

LATAM previously stated that the E2 aircraft would be deployed at São Paulo Guarulhos, Brasília, and Fortaleza. Cadier said the introduction of the E2 will not prompt major network changes, noting that the airline's route network in Brazil continues to grow, expanding from 40 destinations before the COVID-19 pandemic to 62 cities today.

LATAM's next fleet update is planned for 2027 when it receives its first Airbus A321XLR. Alvo reiterated previous comments that initial deployment of the aircraft from the Lima hub remains uncertain due to transfer fees imposed on international passengers in Lima. He also mentioned Brasília and Fortaleza as alternative deployment points for the aircraft.

While focusing on E2 and A321XLR deployment, LATAM has also ordered 18 Boeing 787s, scheduled for delivery by the end of this decade. Alvo said the company is satisfied with the aircraft's size and range. The airline group has nine 767s at its Lima hub, with the priority being to replace them by the end of this decade. Alvo stated that the 787 is capable of handling these tasks.

Alvo said that from a fleet perspective, LATAM's biggest priority in the coming years is ensuring the timely delivery of ordered aircraft. While he mentioned Boeing's progress, he also noted that LATAM has not received any 787 on time in the past few years.
