en.Wedoany.com Reported - A transport and loading operation for a 15,000-ton offshore structure was recently completed by Roll Group at Seatrium's Admiralty yard in Singapore.
This multi-phase task required Roll Group to provide end-to-end engineering services, covering everything from the initial movement of a 2,500-ton deck support frame (DSF) to subsequent topside weighing, jacking, and final loading onto offshore transport assets.
The Roll Group team started with engineering design for the DSF transport and executed the operation, managing the logistics required for the move, including mooring, ballasting, grillage, and sea fastening. The actual movement was achieved using a combination of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), ballasting equipment, and a roll-on/roll-off ramp.
After the first transport was completed, the barge was moved between different dock locations, and the team then used the same transport scheme to place the 2,500-ton DSF directly beneath the waiting topside. Once the DSF and topside were mated, the combined load reached 15,000 tons.
The final phase of the project demanded extremely high engineering precision to load the massive topside onto the waiting heavy transport vessel (HTV). Roll Group specialists deployed heavy-duty split jacks and strand jack systems. In addition to the actual loading and recovery operations, the company was fully responsible for the complex mooring engineering and the precise calculations required to maintain HTV stability during the heavy-lift transfer.
