The project is located in the waters off Guho-dong, Donghae District, Gangwon Province, and will involve the construction of a coal terminal capable of berthing large vessels of up to 100,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage). Ssangyong Construction was ultimately selected as the successful bidder through comprehensive evaluation and construction plan review under the comprehensive evaluation bidding system.

This win marks Ssangyong Construction's third major civil engineering project, following two sections of the Southern Inland Railway (approximately KRW 443 billion) earlier this year. A Ssangyong Construction official stated that following the Anheung Outer Port Mooring Facility Construction Project won last year, this project further strengthens the company's track record in the port sector. Additionally, by accumulating construction experience for large vessel berthing facilities, it will enhance the company's competitiveness in the domestic port and marine civil engineering market.
