en.Wedoany.com Reported - Eurocell and Windowmaker have announced a collaborative outcome: a U-value (thermal transmittance) and G-value (solar heat gain coefficient) calculation solution integrated into the Windowmaker platform, designed to help window and door manufacturers meet stricter compliance requirements arising from the Future Homes Standard and updates to building regulations for new constructions.
This solution is part of Windowmaker's existing compliance and quoting software. Over the past two years, Eurocell has worked with Windowmaker to directly integrate its validated thermal performance data into this platform, which is widely used by manufacturers in the UK and Europe.
The launch comes as the industry prepares for changes in how performance is demonstrated under the energy modeling framework. It is expected that future approaches will adopt more granular, product-specific calculations to replace current, more standardized methods. Previously, manufacturers could often rely on a single calculation applicable to multiple window configurations; however, under the Future Homes Standard and the transition to the Home Energy Model (HEM), each frame specification will require independent U-value and G-value calculations, significantly increasing compliance complexity.
To support this shift, Eurocell has invested over two years collaborating with Windowmaker to embed more than 10,000 validated data points from its product range into the system.
The solution utilizes validated Eurocell performance data to automatically calculate U-values, G-values, and frame factors. It is directly integrated into existing quoting workflows, with calculations updating immediately when configurations change. The solution aims to generate outputs that meet compliance and certification requirements while reducing the need for manual calculations, thereby alleviating the administrative burden on manufacturers.
Eurocell stated that early collaboration helps ensure its product data is embedded in the system before the industry more broadly adopts detailed compliance requirements, thereby supporting manufacturers in preparing for regulatory changes.
Gary Doxey, Head of Commercial Operations and Technical Sales at Eurocell, noted: "The Future Homes Standard will significantly change how window and door performance is demonstrated, especially as compliance becomes more granular and product-specific. This shift means manufacturers will need access to accurate, reliable data in greater detail than before, which is precisely what our collaboration with Windowmaker supports. By investing over two years to develop and validate our technical data and integrate it into Windowmaker's platform, we can help ensure that manufacturers can work within a familiar system as they prepare to meet evolving requirements. Our focus is on providing answers to the questions manufacturers and housebuilders are asking as the industry faces significant change."
Remi Gruszka, UK and European Sales Director at Windowmaker, said: "We have worked closely with Eurocell to integrate its validated performance data into our platform, ensuring manufacturers can quickly and consistently generate accurate, compliant calculations within their existing workflows. As regulatory requirements become more detailed, particularly regarding product-specific performance data, collaborations like this are essential to help the industry adapt without adding unnecessary complexity to daily operations."
The solution reflects the industry trend towards digitalization and data-driven compliance. With the Future Homes Standard on the horizon, Eurocell stated that supporting customers in navigating regulatory changes remains its top priority.
