en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 17, the German Federal Network Agency announced the results of its rooftop solar PV tender, selecting 108 projects with a total capacity of 208.6MW. This round of rooftop solar PV tenders targeted solar projects on building rooftops and noise barriers. Originally planned to support 296.3MW of capacity, the tender received 125 bids totaling 238MW. After excluding 17 invalid bids, 108 projects were ultimately confirmed.
This round of rooftop solar PV tenders remained below the target capacity, but participation increased compared to the round in February 2026. Successful bids ranged from €0.084/kWh to €0.10/kWh, with a weighted average winning price of €0.0972/kWh, slightly higher than the average of the previous round. North Rhine-Westphalia secured the most projects, with 21 projects totaling 49MW; Lower Saxony had 19 projects totaling 36MW; projects in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, and Hesse also received support.
The German Federal Network Agency plans to support the construction of 1.1GW of rooftop solar PV capacity through three tender rounds in 2026. Rooftop solar PV projects can utilize existing building space, reducing the need for additional land use, while serving the electricity needs of commercial, industrial, and public buildings. The next tender for building and noise barrier solar projects is scheduled for October 1, 2026. Subsequent project progress will still depend on construction conditions, grid connection, and owner investment arrangements.
