Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 19, On Monday, Eletrobras, Brazil’s leading power company, announced a partnership with C3 AI to integrate artificial intelligence into the management of its electric power transmission network, the largest in Latin America. The collaboration aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of Brazil’s energy infrastructure.

Eletrobras will deploy the C3 AI Grid Intelligence tool across all its transmission assets. This technology focuses on real-time monitoring and rapid resolution of network issues, enabling faster responses to operational challenges. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

In a joint statement, the companies emphasized that the use of AI will enhance the resilience and stability of the transmission network on a large scale. The technology is expected to streamline the correction of faults, ensuring consistent power delivery. This initiative aligns with global trends, as investments in electrical grids grow to support increasingly complex energy systems and to strengthen infrastructure against extreme weather events, such as fires near transmission lines and substations, a significant challenge in Brazil.

Pablo Flores, Executive Manager of Protection, Automation and Control of Operating Systems at Eletrobras, stated: “We are modernizing critical network monitoring processes, which allows us to respond to incidents more effectively and agilely, ensuring system stability and availability.” The adoption of AI underscores Eletrobras’ commitment to advancing its operational capabilities to meet the demands of Brazil’s evolving energy landscape.
