Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 10, The first of 16 Vestas turbines has been installed at the Green Breeze wind farm in Galati province, Romania. The 99.2MW project is being developed by OX2 on behalf of Nala Renewables and marks OX2’s first construction project in the country.
The wind farm will feature 16 Vestas V162-6.2MW turbines. According to OX2, the first turbine is now in place, standing over 200 metres tall from the ground to the tip of its blade. This installation represents a significant milestone for the project as construction progresses toward full commissioning.
Green Breeze, owned by Nala Renewables, is scheduled to enter operation in 2026. Once completed, the project is expected to generate approximately 312GWh of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 50,000 households. The renewable output will contribute to Romania’s clean energy development and strengthen local electricity supply.
Upon commissioning, OX2 will be responsible for both the technical and commercial management of the facility. The company noted that this long-term role reflects its commitment to ensuring the efficient operation and continued performance of the project.
The Green Breeze project underlines the collaboration between OX2, Nala Renewables, and Vestas in advancing renewable energy infrastructure in Eastern Europe. By combining advanced wind turbine technology with experienced project development and management, the partners aim to deliver stable and sustainable electricity for the region.
In addition to its contribution to household energy supply, the project is positioned to reduce emissions and support Romania’s renewable energy targets. With a planned capacity of nearly 100MW, Green Breeze demonstrates how large-scale wind power can play a role in meeting growing demand for clean electricity while enhancing grid diversity.
The installation of the first turbine is a symbolic step forward for OX2 in Romania. As construction continues, the company emphasized the importance of maintaining efficient timelines and meeting project goals in preparation for commissioning in 2026. The ongoing progress highlights how renewable energy projects are expanding across Europe, supported by partnerships that combine development expertise, investment, and innovative technology.
With Green Breeze advancing steadily, OX2 is positioned to expand its footprint in Romania and strengthen its role in Europe’s renewable energy market. For Nala Renewables, the project reflects a long-term investment in sustainable electricity generation, while for Vestas, it highlights the deployment of modern wind technology capable of delivering reliable performance in large-scale projects.
