Wedoany.com Report-Sept. 24, On September 20, BYD’s luxury new energy vehicle brand, YANGWANG, introduced the U9 XTREME (U9X), a track-focused, all-electric supercar limited to 30 customized units worldwide. The debut follows the model’s engineering prototype, which set a global electric vehicle speed record in August, with the U9X achieving 496.22 km/h in September, surpassing all internal combustion vehicles. It also recorded a 6:59.157 lap time at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The U9X is built on the world’s first mass-produced 1,200V high-voltage platform, powered by four 30,000-rpm electric motors delivering over 3,000 Ps and a power-to-weight ratio of 1,217 Ps/t. Utilizing YANGWANG’s “e⁴” power system and DiSus-X suspension, the vehicle features real-time body attitude control optimized for track performance, pushing beyond conventional limits.
Enhancements include a cooling system with a 133% increase in capacity, ensuring optimal performance under extreme conditions. The U9X is equipped with a track-grade Blade Battery featuring a 30C discharge rate and dual-layer cooling for sustained power delivery. A titanium alloy–carbon ceramic braking system, tailored for the Nürburgring’s 177 turns, ensures consistent, fade-free braking.
YANGWANG partnered with Giti Tire to develop the GitiSport e·GTR² PRO semi-slick tire, reinforced with aramid fibers to endure speeds exceeding 500 km/h. The tire’s asymmetric tread enhances cornering grip and wet performance, while structural reinforcements provide stability under high G-forces.
A YANGWANG spokesperson stated: “The U9 XTREME represents a pinnacle of electric performance, combining cutting-edge technology with track-ready engineering to deliver an unparalleled driving experience.” The limited production run underscores the brand’s focus on exclusivity and customization for high-performance enthusiasts.
The U9X’s debut highlights YANGWANG’s commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology, positioning the brand as a leader in the luxury performance market. With its record-setting speed and innovative engineering, the U9X sets a new benchmark for electric supercars, offering tailored solutions for global customers.
