Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 31, Vodafone (VOD.L) announced on Thursday that it will acquire German cloud and digital transformation company Skaylink for 175 million euros ($204.09 million) from private equity firm Waterland, in an effort to strengthen its technology and enterprise service portfolio.

Skaylink, headquartered in Germany, employs more than 500 people across various European countries. The company focuses on managing cloud operations and migrations for major platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), and provides artificial intelligence-based digital solutions tailored for corporate clients. Its expertise supports businesses in modernizing IT infrastructure and improving operational efficiency through advanced cloud technologies.

Vodafone said the acquisition aligns with its strategy to expand digital services beyond traditional telecommunications. The deal will allow Vodafone to enhance its business offerings to enterprise customers across Europe by integrating Skaylink’s cloud management and AI capabilities with Vodafone’s existing digital infrastructure.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of March 2026, pending necessary regulatory approvals. Once completed, Skaylink will operate as part of Vodafone’s enterprise division, focusing on delivering digital transformation projects for corporate clients in Europe.

A Vodafone spokesperson said the transaction reflects the company’s commitment to supporting businesses in accelerating their digital transformation and optimizing their use of cloud technologies. The integration of Skaylink’s expertise is anticipated to strengthen Vodafone’s ability to deliver secure, scalable, and flexible cloud services, especially for organizations looking to adopt hybrid or multi-cloud strategies.

Vodafone has been expanding its enterprise services as part of its broader plan to diversify revenue sources amid a competitive telecom landscape. The acquisition follows a series of strategic investments by Vodafone aimed at reinforcing its position in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud computing services.

Skaylink has built a strong reputation in the European market by partnering with major technology providers and helping enterprises deploy cloud and AI solutions tailored to their business needs. The company’s approach focuses on combining cloud engineering with data analytics and automation to enable digital growth.

The deal represents a significant step for Vodafone in scaling its enterprise technology services across Europe. By integrating Skaylink’s expertise, Vodafone seeks to provide comprehensive solutions that combine connectivity, cloud infrastructure, and artificial intelligence.

Industry observers noted that the acquisition could enhance Vodafone’s competitiveness in the rapidly growing market for cloud-based enterprise services, where demand continues to rise as companies accelerate digital transformation efforts.

With regulatory approval expected by March 2026, the acquisition of Skaylink marks a key milestone in Vodafone’s long-term strategy to evolve into a leading provider of digital and cloud-based services across Europe, supporting both large corporations and mid-sized businesses in their technological transformation.
