Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 13, Cathay Pacific has inaugurated a thrice-weekly seasonal service linking Hong Kong with Adelaide, South Australia, restoring a key direct connection between the two cities and supporting travel, trade, and cultural exchange between Asia and Australia.
Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said: “We are delighted to return to Adelaide, a city we have a long history with having first launched flights in 1992. Adelaide is a dynamic city on the South Australia coast that offers visitors incredible culinary delights, world-renowned wines, stunning natural attractions, and much more. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard to experience our signature Cathay Pacific service, whether they are flying to this dynamic city, our home hub, or beyond.”
The new service operates on state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft, designed to provide a premium experience across all cabins. Business class features fully flat beds, Premium Economy offers spacious seating, and Economy delivers comfort with award-winning service. Passengers can enjoy Cathay Pacific’s inflight entertainment system and menus developed with Michelin-starred Hong Kong restaurants on flights departing Hong Kong.
Wi-Fi connectivity is available fleetwide, complimentary for Business class passengers and Cathay Diamond members. From November 15, Cathay Gold members and, by the end of the year, Premium Economy passengers will also gain access.
The Adelaide service adds to Cathay Pacific’s existing Australian network, which includes Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney. Combined with flights to Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, the airline is operating nearly 100 weekly return flights to Oceania during the winter season, enhancing regional connectivity and supporting tourism and business travel.
