Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 17, A new direct air passenger route connecting Beijing and Muscat, Oman, will begin operations on November 30, Beijing Daxing International Airport (BDIA) announced.

China Eastern Airlines will operate flights MU2051 and MU2052 twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, using an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. The outbound flight will depart BDIA at 2 p.m. Beijing Time, arriving at Muscat International Airport at 7:55 p.m. local time. The return flight will leave Muscat at 9:55 p.m. local time and arrive in Beijing at 10 a.m. the next day.

The route reflects the strong and longstanding friendship between China and Oman, which has grown in recent years through closer economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural exchanges.

In May 2025, China introduced a trial visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Between June 9, 2025, and June 8, 2026, eligible travelers can enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days for purposes including business, tourism, family visits, exchanges, or transit.

BDIA highlighted that the launch of the Beijing–Muscat direct flight will facilitate people-to-people exchanges, support business and tourism cooperation, and further advance practical collaboration between the two countries. The route is expected to provide a strong boost to bilateral relations and economic connectivity.

The new service strengthens air connectivity between the Middle East and China, offering convenient travel options for business travelers, tourists, and families. It also supports broader regional cooperation by linking China with Oman’s capital, which serves as a key hub for trade and logistics in the Gulf region.

With the twice-weekly schedule, the route will allow timely travel for both short-term visits and extended stays, enhancing accessibility for passengers traveling in both directions.

Overall, the Beijing–Muscat route represents a milestone in China–Oman transport links, reflecting the ongoing efforts of both countries to deepen cooperation in aviation, commerce, and cultural exchange. It is expected to contribute to increased trade flows, tourism development, and stronger interpersonal connections.

The launch underscores China Eastern Airlines’ commitment to expanding international networks and providing high-quality services on long-haul routes. With modern wide-body aircraft, passengers can expect comfortable travel, supporting both business and leisure mobility between the two nations.
