Wedoany.com Report on Feb 26th, Recently, the London-based Urban Housing Trust announced the formal appointment of 20 contractors to participate in a public building fire and structural safety remediation framework project valued at up to £807 million. This framework has a four-year term, with the possibility of extension to seven years.

The Urban Housing Trust stated that this framework will provide solid support for its public building remediation programme, covering both internal and external works within its managed public building stock. Notably, other public sector organisations bound by procurement regulations, such as housing registered providers, councils, local authorities, and charities, can also utilise this framework.
The contract award notice published on February 24th indicates that the total project value includes £307 million (including VAT) for the Urban Housing Trust's own public building remediation programme, plus a maximum estimated £500 million (including VAT) that authorised users may call upon.
For ease of management, the framework is divided into three lots based on project value ranges. Lot 1 is for projects valued between £0 and £1 million, with seven companies successfully awarded, including Architectural Decorators, Arte Construction, and Bell Building Projects. Lot 2 covers projects valued between £1 million and £5 million, further subdivided into two parts, with 15 companies, including Amber Construction Services and Architectural Decorators, qualifying. Lot 3 focuses on projects valued over £5 million, also divided into two parts, with 12 companies, including Amber Construction Services and Colorminium London, being selected.
Regarding the award criteria, capability, technical standards, and quality accounted for 70%, while anticipated costs accounted for 30%. The framework was originally scheduled to run until February 3rd, 2030. The Urban Housing Trust indicated that, considering the duration of the public building remediation programme and the life safety risks posed by the buildings awaiting remediation, the term will be extended beyond the standard four years.
