en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 25th, EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) has completed the 150 MW Pleasantville Solar project, a clean energy facility in Fulton County, Illinois. The project is expected to generate enough electricity annually to power the equivalent of more than 39,500 homes and businesses.
"As electricity demand increases in Illinois, the Pleasantville Solar project advances the state’s economy and communities with a steady source of local energy," said Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO of EDP Renewables North America. "Projects like this help local residents and businesses benefit from long-term revenue, job creation, and reliable energy infrastructure, all while meeting the state’s growing energy needs."
The entire output of the 150 MW solar project is contracted under a long-term power purchase agreement with Microsoft. The Pleasantville Solar project is expected to generate over $31.6 million in revenue to fund schools, roads, emergency services, and other public facilities. Approximately 300 temporary jobs were created during the construction phase.

EDP Renewables North America has developed a total of 1.6 GW of clean energy projects in Illinois, including several wind farms and solar facilities. The company's energy infrastructure has created 79 permanent positions and 880 construction jobs in Illinois, maintains seven operational facilities, and operates a technician training center in Bloomington that trains approximately 100 solar and wind technicians annually to serve the company's operational assets in Illinois and across the United States.
