en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 300MW/1200MWh grid-side independent energy storage power station project at the Baishuiquan Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Jinta County has achieved phased construction progress, with all 240 battery compartments installed. The project is scheduled to be fully connected to the grid and start power generation on November 30 this year.

The project is invested and constructed by Jiuquan Jinchu New Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beijing Hyperstrong Technology Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 900 million yuan. It is a first-phase overall planned construction project. The project adopts lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage technology and will build a new 330kV step-up substation, connecting to the regional power grid through a combination of overhead lines and cables, with a total line length of 0.803 kilometers. The overall project plans for 60 energy storage units of 5MW/20MWh each, equipped with conversion, transformation, distribution, and secondary control equipment. Once completed and operational, it will primarily undertake grid peak shaving tasks, alleviate the supply-demand contradiction of the power grid, and ensure stable grid operation.

According to Liang Mengyan, the person in charge of the project's EPC general contracting, since construction began in April this year, foundational works such as mechanical clearing and site leveling have been completed. As of now, all 240 battery compartments in the energy storage area are in place, and foundation construction for the step-up substation's comprehensive building and auxiliary rooms has commenced. The installation of PCS step-up transformer integrated compartments is about to begin. The project plans to have all electrical equipment for the step-up substation in place by the end of October, with full grid connection and power generation scheduled for November 30.

This project is a key supporting project for new energy in Jinta County, focusing on core functions such as grid peak shaving, new energy consumption, and grid stability assurance. It is a critical supporting project for improving the county's new energy industry chain and enhancing energy utilization efficiency. Li Ping, the project manager of the construction unit, stated that after completion, the project will effectively address the shortcomings of regional grid peak shaving, smooth out fluctuations in wind and solar power generation, enhance local new energy consumption capacity, solve the instability issues of new energy power generation, and simultaneously optimize the county's grid structure, improving power supply reliability and security capabilities.

Leveraging its abundant wind and solar energy resources, Jinta County continues to promote the development of the new energy industry. Currently, the installed capacity of new energy projects that are completed, under construction, and planned in the county has reached 4.15 million kW, 4 million kW, and 8.8 million kW respectively, with the clean energy industry landscape continuously expanding.
