en.Wedoany.com Reported - SAHA Airlines has launched regular flights on the Tehran-Kabul, Mashhad-Mazar-i-Sharif, and Mashhad-Kandahar routes, becoming the sixth Iranian airline operating in Afghanistan. Company officials stated that the airline will operate four weekly flights on these routes, aiming to facilitate passenger travel, enhance aviation cooperation, and reduce airfare prices between the two countries. According to officials, this move is expected to strengthen air connectivity and expand transportation cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran.
Ali Hamdard, SAHA Airlines' representative in Afghanistan, stated that the company plans to reduce ticket prices by up to 50% compared to previously operating airlines in Afghanistan.
Ahmad Sir Rahimi, a representative of the Union of Tourism Companies, considers this an important step in strengthening air links between Kabul and Tehran, noting that increased flights could make travel and visa services more accessible. The union stated that this is a positive development for Afghanistan as it promotes healthy competition among airlines. In addition to carriers already operating on the Kabul-Tehran and Kabul-Mashhad routes, this airline has now entered the market.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation announced that, besides two domestic airlines, there are currently 11 foreign airlines operating in Afghanistan. Economic analyst Abdul Zohour Madbar pointed out that the more extensive the air transport services, the stronger the competitive environment, and ultimately this competition benefits consumers and the national economy.
Currently, Varesh Airlines, Meraj Airlines, Iran Air, Iran Airtour, Mahan Air, and SAHA Airlines operate regular flights between Afghanistan and Iran.
