en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology announced on the 12th that they have selected 10 smart construction alliance technology demonstration support projects and 12 excellent small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the smart construction sector, aiming to promote the introduction of artificial intelligence into the construction industry and foster leading companies that drive automation.

The technology demonstration support project provides SMEs that have developed excellent smart construction technologies, products, and services but face difficulties in securing field sites with actual construction sites of large and mid-sized enterprises, and also supports costs. This year, the support amount has been raised from a previous maximum of 15 million KRW to 25 million KRW.
Demand-based projects (6 items) include underground crack inspection technology for multi-unit residential buildings based on rotating SLAM devices, and construction hazard detection and analysis solutions using smart edge cameras and VLM; self-proposal projects (4 items) include a construction site surplus resource recycling and carbon management system.
The demonstration results of these technologies will be shared at the "2026 Smart Construction Expo" to be held in November.
The project for selecting and supporting excellent SMEs aims to identify and provide concentrated support to SMEs with smart construction technology development capabilities and high growth potential. Support for prototype production is up to 30 million KRW, and support is provided for public announcements of excellent SMEs and technology demonstrations.
This year's selected companies include IT1, which provides a smart construction safety platform; Hanseong Modular, which produces integrated panels; and KCT E&C, which provides an underground shadow area intelligent collapse risk monitoring system.
Kim Myung-joon, Director of the Technology Safety Policy Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, stated that through continuous demonstration support and fostering of excellent SMEs, the smart construction ecosystem is gradually taking shape. He also noted that in the future, a major transformation of the construction industry will be achieved through the introduction of data-based physical AI and other technologies.
