en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tianjin Metro recently launched service upgrade initiatives simultaneously at two major hubs, Tianjin West Station and Tianjin Station, involving the renovation of the signage system and the deployment of intelligent cleaning robots, marking a shift in station management from traditional manual models to smart and refined approaches.

As a transfer hub for Lines 1, 4, and 6, Tianjin West Station implemented a systematic upgrade of signage in the Line 6 area. The renovation adopted new standards of classification by color and hierarchy, covering five high-frequency points: line transfers, railway connections, accessible elevators, public restrooms, and metro entrances. Over 100 signs were updated at locations such as station halls, corridors, escalators, and corners. The upgraded signage system provides continuous guidance from entry and transfer to exit, with enlarged layouts, improved text and image clarity, and higher contrast for easier passenger identification.

At the sunken plaza of Tianjin Station's North Square, an intelligent cleaning robot has been put into 7×24 trial operation. Equipped with LiDAR and a 360-degree perception system, the robot can autonomously map, plan routes, and precisely avoid pedestrians, while featuring safety mechanisms for fall prevention and escalator avoidance. With a cleaning width of 800 mm, it can clean 1,800 square meters per hour, equivalent to the efficiency of two experienced cleaners. It supports one-click switching between sweeping and mopping modes and dynamically adjusts routes and operation duration based on passenger flow peaks and troughs. Relying on an integrated automatic water filling, drainage, and charging station, the robot can operate continuously for 6 to 8 hours after just one hour of fast charging. The operator has designated a dedicated work area for the robot and established standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering startup, inspection, fault handling, and emergency response. The robot operates with low noise, and on-site staff provide dynamic supervision, enabling unattended routine maintenance.
