Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 15, On Friday, Mitsubishi Electric, a Japanese electronics and electrical equipment manufacturer, and Evhacs, an Ireland-based heating and cooling specialist, announced a collaboration to introduce an integrated heat pump and electric vehicle (EV) charger system. The companies claim this is the world’s first solution combining these two technologies, designed to streamline energy infrastructure for users.

Mitsubishi Electric stated: “The integrated system will allow homeowners, property developers, and commercial operators to simplify their infrastructure by combining two vital energy technologies in one.” The system reduces installation complexity, accelerates deployment, lowers overall costs, and maintains building aesthetics. The heat pump component utilizes Mitsubishi’s Ecodan, Mr. Slim, and M series, which Evhacs adapted to incorporate EV charging capabilities without compromising performance.

Evhacs explained: “Evhacs’ proprietary technology transforms Mitsubishi Electric’s award-winning heat pumps and air conditioning units into dual-purpose systems without compromising on performance or efficiency.” The system supports AC charging and integrates seamlessly with home energy management systems, enhancing usability for residential and commercial applications.

The EV charger is available in two variants: a 1-phase 7.4 kW model and a 3-phase 22 kW model. It features a tethered charging cable attached directly to the heat pump, with an optional 10 cm x 10 cm junction box to maintain a sleek design. The system supports dynamic load balancing and is compatible with demand-side management and future smart grid applications, ensuring efficient energy use.

The integrated solution comes with a standard one-year warranty, extendable to three years with a service pack. This collaboration, based in Japan and Ireland, aims to provide a practical and innovative solution for sustainable energy needs, catering to the growing demand for efficient heating and EV charging infrastructure. By combining these technologies, Mitsubishi Electric and Evhacs are advancing energy management for homeowners and businesses, supporting the global shift toward cleaner energy solutions.
