Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 4, Plug Power Inc. (Slingerlands, N.Y.) announced on October 30 the signing of a binding supply agreement with Allied Biofuels FE LLC (ABF; Perth, Australia) for up to 2 gigawatts (GW) of Plug’s GenEco PEM electrolyzer systems. The agreement will support ABF’s development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), electro-synthetic aviation fuel (eSAF), and green diesel, with a final investment decision expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
This new contract follows the previously announced 3 GW collaboration between Plug and Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) in Australia, bringing the total contracted electrolyzer capacity between Plug and its Allied partners to 5 GW. Plug’s technology will be used at ABF’s flagship SAF and eSAF facility in Uzbekistan, a strategically positioned site designed to supply sustainable fuel to global markets.
The signing took place in Australia during Plug CEO Andy Marsh’s visit to the region, where he met with project developers and energy partners to advance hydrogen and renewable fuel projects. This agreement is among the largest electrolyzer supply contracts announced in 2025, highlighting Plug’s expanding role in enabling large-scale renewable fuel production across Central Asia.
Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, stated: “This agreement is proof that Plug delivers on what others are still planning. We’re turning hydrogen commitments into real, operating projects at multi-gigawatt scale. Signing this supply agreement in Australia highlights our deep engagement in the global hydrogen economy and our ability to provide proven electrolyzer technology for SAF and eSAF production and decarbonization.”
Alfred Benedict, Chairman of Allied Biofuels, said: “At Allied Biofuels, our mission is to deliver reliable, low-carbon fuel solutions to global markets. Partnering with Plug’s world-class electrolyzer platform ensures we can achieve the scale, reliability, and performance our customers expect. Finalizing this supply agreement marks a major milestone as we progress toward FID.”
Plug Power continues to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific and Central Asia regions, reinforcing its position as a key provider of electrolyzer systems for renewable fuel and hydrogen-based energy transition projects. In addition to its partnership with ABF, Plug is advancing hydrogen and fuel cell projects in South Korea, India, and Japan, supporting the integration of clean hydrogen into power generation, industrial applications, and fuel synthesis.
The company aims to build a global hydrogen ecosystem covering production, storage, delivery, and power generation. Its portfolio includes electrolyzers, liquid hydrogen systems, fuel cells, storage tanks, and fueling infrastructure serving sectors such as industrial manufacturing, logistics, and energy production, promoting large-scale decarbonization and energy self-sufficiency.
Allied Biofuels FE LLC (ABF), headquartered in Central Asia, is developing a large integrated biorefinery complex in Uzbekistan to produce SAF, eSAF, and green diesel. The company focuses on providing zero-carbon fuel solutions that reduce emissions in aviation and transportation while contributing to global clean energy transition and long-term sustainability.
