Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 13, On November 12, Great Wall Motor’s ORA brand began presales for its latest all-electric compact SUV, the ORA 5. The model is offered in five trim levels, priced between 109,800 yuan and 142,800 yuan, and aims to compete in the rapidly growing compact electric SUV segment.

The ORA 5 continues the brand’s recognizable “cat family” design language, characterized by a rounded, smooth silhouette. Its front fascia features circular LED headlights and a trapezoidal lower grille, creating a youthful yet elegant appearance. Higher trim variants are equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and additional perception hardware to support advanced driver-assistance functions.

From the side, the ORA 5 maintains design similarities with the ORA Good Cat, featuring sleek contours and conventional door handles. The vehicle is fitted with 18-inch wheels and measures 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm (or 1,844 mm) in width, and 1,641 mm in height, with a 2,720 mm wheelbase. The minimalist rear design integrates taillights and a rear window to form a unified full-width lighting effect.

Inside, the cabin adopts a clean and modern layout centered on a two-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen running Great Wall Motor’s Coffee OS 3 system. Key controls are operated via physical toggle switches beneath the center console, complemented by a wireless phone charging pad. The rear seats feature independent air vents, a temperature-controlled storage area, and foldable backrests to enhance practicality.

The ORA 5 is powered by a 150 kW electric motor and uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack supplied by SVOLT Energy Technology. Customers can choose between two configurations — a 45.3 kWh battery with a CLTC range of 480 km or a 58.3 kWh battery with a range of 580 km.

Positioned in the competitive compact electric SUV market, the ORA 5 will rival models such as BYD Yuan PLUS and Leapmotor B10. It also marks the first ORA model to adopt a numerical naming format, representing a shift toward a new branding strategy for the company. By integrating LiDAR and intelligent driving technologies, the ORA 5 highlights Great Wall Motor’s ongoing commitment to smart and sustainable mobility.

With presales now open, the ORA 5 is expected to officially launch soon. The new model will broaden ORA’s lineup and reinforce the brand’s presence in the mainstream electric vehicle segment. Combining design innovation, intelligent features, and extended range, the ORA 5 is positioned to strengthen Great Wall Motor’s competitiveness in China’s dynamic EV market while appealing to consumers seeking technology-driven compact SUVs.
