Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 18, Sulzer Ltd. (Winterthur, Switzerland) has been chosen by Inpasa, a leading Latin American bioenergy producer, as the main equipment supplier for process pumps and agitators for its latest industrial expansion in Brazil. Inpasa is constructing new biofuel production plants and upgrading its existing facilities. Its products serve multiple sectors, including transportation, animal feed, pharmaceuticals, food, and chemicals.

The ongoing investment in these facilities exceeds CHF 360 million. The agreement covers delivery of over 600 pieces of equipment, which will be installed across ethanol, DDGS (Distiller’s Dried Grains with Solubles), corn oil, and renewable energy production plants starting in the first half of 2026. The heavy-duty industrial equipment will process raw materials used for renewable products. By 2027, the expansion is expected to increase Inpasa’s total processing capacity to 16 million tonnes per year.

Sulzer’s equipment is designed for high reliability, low energy consumption, and optimized performance in continuous operations. These features help reduce operating costs, increase plant availability, and lower environmental impact — priorities for Inpasa as it scales sustainable energy production.

“This agreement strengthens the strategic partnership between Sulzer and Inpasa,” said Mathias Pruessing, Division President Flow at Sulzer. “We’re proud to support Inpasa in this journey of growth and innovation in the bioenergy sector, accelerating Brazil’s energy transition and reducing fossil fuel emissions.”

Renato Teixeira, Inpasa’s Communication and Marketing Director, said: “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability. Sulzer’s technology will play a vital role in helping us strengthen Brazil’s renewable energy infrastructure to meet our production goals while advancing our environmental objectives.”

The project demonstrates a significant step in Latin America’s renewable energy sector, combining technological innovation with industrial scale. The facilities will not only enhance biofuel output but also support the production of value-added co-products like DDGS and corn oil, reinforcing Inpasa’s position in both local and regional energy and agricultural markets.

By integrating Sulzer’s advanced pumps and agitators, Inpasa aims to maintain operational efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of its processing activities. The equipment’s continuous-operation capabilities ensure reliability under heavy industrial use, contributing to long-term sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

Overall, this expansion aligns with Inpasa’s strategy to scale production capacity while promoting environmentally responsible operations, positioning the company as a leading player in Brazil’s renewable energy transition. The partnership with Sulzer underscores the importance of advanced industrial technology in achieving both production and sustainability targets.

The new facilities are set to start operations in H1 2026, marking the beginning of a transformative phase for Inpasa’s bioenergy production, with full capacity expected by 2027.
