Wedoany.com Report on Mar 2nd, In Abu Dhabi, ADNOC and TAQA have formally entered into a 27-year utility service agreement for the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone, a significant chemicals and transition fuels production hub located in the Ruwais Industrial City. This contract aims to provide long-term infrastructure support for the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone, ensuring its operational stability and efficiency.
The agreement involves ADNOC and TAQA jointly developing a utility platform to support the development of chemicals and transition fuel-related projects within the ICZ. The utilities provided include grid-connected electricity, steam, water, sanitation, and process cooling. Through this long-term contract, the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone will receive reliable infrastructure support, with an expected annual production capacity of 4.7 million tons of chemicals by 2028.
The agreement structure includes a service management company established by TA'ZIZ, which purchases utilities from ADNOC and TAQA to provide a commercially stable and predictable foundation for companies entering the zone. This arrangement reflects the maturity of the UAE's industrial strategy, eliminating redundant costs through centralized, long-term utility systems and creating a "plug-and-play" model that lowers market entry barriers for international investors.
Furthermore, this agreement strengthens TAQA's regional influence, as TAQA is developing power generation projects in locations such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The long-term partnership provides global investors with a sense of predictability, helping to attract investment into large-scale infrastructure projects, which aligns with the UAE's overall strategy of enhancing domestic manufacturing levels and promoting economic diversification.
The success of the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone relies on stable, efficient, and scalable infrastructure, and this 27-year contract provides the necessary pillar. The collaboration between ADNOC and TAQA not only provides infrastructure support for the TA'ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone but also helps the UAE enhance its competitiveness in the global chemicals and transition fuels market.
