Wedoany.com Report on Mar 9th, JLG showcased an 86-foot (approximately 26-meter) telescopic boom lift prototype, the 860SJ+, in the US last week. The equipment is currently in the prototype stage, and "detailed specifications may change before the new machine goes into production next year," so the full technical parameters have not yet been released.

Observations indicate that this lift will have higher platform capacity, and its working range may be slightly expanded. The manufacturer also mentioned adding "more machine positioning options and greater operator flexibility." A key difference compared to the existing 860SJ model is that the 860SJ+ is equipped with an internal power track. This is likely made possible by space freed up from eliminating the top chain-driven telescopic boom on the third section and adopting a wire rope extension system instead.

Other upgrades include improved access to service points and centralized maintenance components for easier troubleshooting. The lift also integrates JLG's ClearSky intelligent fleet IoT platform, providing fleet managers and operators with advanced connectivity features for monitoring equipment performance.

Sam Myers, Product Manager for Boom Lifts, said, "We are excited to give customers a glimpse of this equipment, which will provide them with the performance, productivity, mobility, and versatility they need in demanding construction, steel structure installation, and industrial maintenance applications."
