Wedoany.com Report on Mar 10th, Singapore-based renewable energy developer Vena Group recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth approximately $674 million with South Chungcheong Province and Taean County in South Korea, aiming to advance large-scale green energy projects, including offshore wind development in Taean County. The agreement, signed in Singapore, outlines plans to invest in and build renewable energy infrastructure by 2030, with Korean local authorities providing regulatory-compliant permitting and supervisory support.
Vena Group CEO Nitin Apte stated: "This agreement underscores the importance of Korea as a key market and reflects our commitment to enhancing the country's energy security and expanding clean power capacity." South Chungcheong Province Governor Kim Tae-heum noted: "This collaboration is a significant step in utilizing Taean's natural resources and industrial capabilities, and we will provide administrative and financial support to ensure the smooth implementation of the project."
According to the project plan, upon completion, these green energy projects are expected to generate over 1.6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually, replacing fossil fuel-based power generation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 740,000 tons per year. Vena Group stated that this collaboration is part of its strategy to support Korea's clean energy transition and strengthen the renewable energy supply chain, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy development.
