Wedoany.com Report on Mar 11th, Brussels-based specialty materials company Syensqo announced on March 9 that it has reached a new multi-year agreement with Boeing to supply advanced materials for commercial and defense programs.
The contract covers composite materials and structural adhesives for primary and secondary aircraft structures, interiors, and surface applications. It aims to enhance aircraft efficiency and durability while contributing to emission reduction through weight reduction.
Rodrigo Elizondo, President of Syensqo's Composites Business Unit, stated in the announcement: "We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Boeing, supplying advanced materials from our global manufacturing network to support their needs." He emphasized that this agreement strengthens the company's role as a key supplier to aircraft manufacturers.
Aerospace is a core market for Syensqo, accounting for approximately one-fifth of its net sales. The company views it as a significant driver for innovation and growth.
Syensqo is actively expanding its involvement in aviation technology projects. For example, as a technical partner in the "Climate Impulse" initiative, it is committed to developing a green hydrogen-powered aircraft capable of flying continuously for nine days.
The company supplies composite materials for the primary structure of this aircraft and provides ion exchange polymers for its fuel cell system. The aircraft is expected to undergo test flights after its completion by the end of 2026.
