en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 23rd, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, announced a new municipal road construction plan, investing a total of 1.6133 trillion won by 2030 to build 25 municipal roads in 15 cities and counties. This plan is included in the "Fourth Gyeonggi Province Road Construction Plan (2026~2030)" and has been announced in the Gyeonggi Province Gazette. The municipal road construction plan is a statutory plan formulated in five-year units. Over the past two years, the province conducted feasibility reviews and comprehensive evaluations of 68 projects proposed by cities and counties, selecting 25 routes (85.52 km) from them.

By region, 18 municipal roads will be built in the southern Gyeonggi area, involving Gwangju, Gimpo, Anseong, Yangpyeong, Yeoju, Yongin, Icheon, Pyeongtaek, and Hwaseong. Seven municipal roads will be constructed in the northern Gyeonggi area, involving Gapyeong, Namyangju, Yangju, Yeoncheon, Paju, and Pocheon. Among the 25 routes, the province identified 11 priority core projects, including the expansion of Local Road 310 from Hwaseong Munhak to Sinri, the expansion from Yongin Yeokbuk to Seori, and new construction of "tourism-type roads" such as from Pocheon Base to Gilmyeong and from Paju Yeongjang to Yeongjang. To alleviate traffic congestion, sections like the expansion from Pyeongtaek Bangseong Bridge to Oseong Sinri, from Yongin Deokseong to Mokri, and from Gimpo Gogeum to Gwijeon have been included.
Gyeonggi Province is the first in the country to introduce the "grid road co-construction" model. It will collaborate with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) on the construction of four municipal roads—from Icheon Geumdang to Sinpil, from Icheon Susan to Haengjuk, from Yongin Dokseong to Baekbong, and from Yongin Baegam to Seolseong—installing power grids from the road construction phase to support power supply for semiconductor industrial complexes. Kim Dae-soon, Second Vice Governor for Administration of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We will build roads that are not merely means of transportation but roads that can bring opportunities to the daily lives of residents."
