en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 24th, Private company Ambiente y Energía has announced an investment of USD 147 million in Argentina's Formosa Province, planning to build solar parks in six areas, adding 170 MW of photovoltaic capacity. The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase of 80 MW includes the Pirané, Laguna Blanca, and Ibarreta projects; the second phase of 90 MW covers the Clorinda, the provincial capital of Formosa, and the General Güemes projects. The generated electricity will utilize the existing high-voltage grid and may be fed into Argentina's National Interconnected System (SADI).

The Formosa Provincial Electricity Distribution Company, REFSA, stated that the province possesses well-developed electrical infrastructure, including a 500/132 kV substation, 12 substations, and over 1,100 kilometers of high and medium-voltage lines, providing support for the integration of large-scale solar power into the grid. Ambiente y Energía chose to invest in the province based on its abundant solar resources, transmission capacity, and investment predictability. Currently, Formosa Province already has the 15 MW Ingeniero Juárez Solar Park and the 22 MW Las Lomitas project in operation.

In addition to the six solar parks, Ambiente y Energía also plans to participate in the national AlmaSADI tender by CAMMESA on May 8th, proposing solutions that combine containerized battery storage near the Formosa, Pirané, Ibarreta, and Las Lomitas substations. In terms of economic impact, 65% of the investment will be allocated to equipment procurement, and 35% to civil engineering and installation. The Pirané park is expected to create 280 direct jobs and approximately 500 indirect jobs during peak construction periods, with 90% of the workforce sourced locally.
