en.Wedoany.com Reported - European energy storage manufacturer Atmoce has launched the BattBank, a stackable AC battery system for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. Unlike mainstream high-voltage DC architectures, this system adopts a modular design, allowing users to gradually expand capacity based on their needs. The company stated in a press release: “BattBank allows each operator to adjust the scale of their installation according to their actual needs, budget constraints, and business development.” Traditional solutions often require substantial initial investment or complete retrofitting, whereas this system can increase capacity without modifying existing facilities.

Each module of this stackable AC battery offers 16.08 kWh capacity and a maximum discharge power of 10 kVA. Each block can be expanded to up to seven modules, totaling 112 kWh. The system operates at ultra-low voltage (below 60 Vdc), eliminating the risk of DC arcing by design—a primary cause of accidents in C&I energy storage devices. The company explained: “This approach is inherently safer for operators, maintenance technicians, and the installation itself. It does not rely on protective devices added post-hoc; instead, it integrates safety from the design stage into the core of the product architecture.”

The stackable AC battery system is scheduled to be officially launched in July 2026 and is currently available for pre-order through Atmoce’s partners.
