en.Wedoany.com Reported - Austrian power testing and diagnostic solutions provider OMICRON released new versions of ARCO Control, ReCoPlan, and BOB2 Configurator in July 2026. This update expands the testing capabilities of the ARCO 400 universal test set, enabling its application to other distribution network controllers, including voltage regulators and capacitor bank controllers.

The ARCO 400 is an intelligent and rugged test solution designed specifically for recloser control units, capable of performing manual trip and close checks in the fastest manner. The device can simulate a recloser and conduct three-phase testing of controllers in both laboratory and field environments. The ARCO 400 is equipped with multiple precise 3-phase 12.5A current amplifiers and 6-phase voltage amplifiers (range 8V or 150V), along with six binary inputs and nine binary outputs.

According to information released by OMICRON, the latest version enhances the ARCO 400's testing capabilities in several areas. In logic testing, the Sequencer test tool adds additional trigger and output options, manual control of binary outputs, and the ability to test 52a/52b contact mismatch conditions, providing greater flexibility for advanced logic and functional testing. A new export function in BOB2 Configurator allows custom BOB2 configurations to be directly imported into ReCoPlan. ARCO Control introduces a test plan search function and interactive binary input/output checks, helping to streamline setup and testing processes.

Other enhancements include configurable timing thresholds for single-phase operated reclosers, additional harmonic support, ground fault simulation without zero-sequence components, and zero-sequence vector display in the Direct test tool. According to OMICRON, this update also brings a series of usability and workflow improvements aimed at increasing the efficiency and productivity of testing teams.

This software update marks the expansion of the ARCO 400 from a dedicated tester focused on recloser control to a universal platform covering a broader range of distribution network controller testing. As the scale of distributed energy resource (DER) grid integration continues to grow, the protection and control logic of distribution networks becomes increasingly complex, placing higher demands on the flexibility and functionality of testing equipment. By expanding device capabilities through software upgrades rather than hardware replacement, OMICRON reduces upgrade costs for users, helping to promote the standardization and efficiency of distribution automation equipment testing.
