en.Wedoany.com Reported - Garware, a Chilean technical fiber company, is participating in an ecosystem restoration activity at the Teodosio Sarao wetland in Llanquihue, Chile, achieving carbon capture and habitat protection by planting native trees. Marcos Jofré, Business Partner of Garware Chile, stated that the team, together with the Legado Chile Foundation and community residents, planted 150 native trees. This initiative helps capture approximately 3,100 kilograms of carbon dioxide annually, while also aiding in soil restoration and protecting the habitats of birds and amphibians unique to the region. Jofré emphasized that this ecosystem is crucial for the carbon sink function of the Llanquihue Lake basin, and that these actions are part of the sustainable significance the company has given to the 2025 Christmas gifts for its clients and friends.

The Teodosio Sarao wetland is part of a biological corridor network connecting wetlands, rivers, and forests in southern Chile. Verónica Irarrázabal, Executive Director of the Legado Chile Foundation, noted that every restoration action strengthens this network, allowing biodiversity to migrate, reproduce, and continue to inhabit the area. She thanked the companies in the Llanquihue region involved in the restoration of the Teodosio Sarao wetland, while also highlighting the need for attention to the sunken forest of the Maullín River—one of the most fragile ecosystems in the south. Irarrázabal publicly invited businesses and communities to participate in ecological conservation, stating that protecting nature is a shared responsibility for all.

Garware is a technical fiber company dedicated to developing and selling high-performance solutions for its clients. The company stated that sustainability has gradually been integrated into its operations, risk management, and approach to building future resilience, rather than being a standalone task.
