en.Wedoany.com Reported - AIC Mines has appointed Clint Donkin, former head of Glencore's Africa copper business, as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 31. Donkin spent most of his career at Glencore, also serving as Chief Technology Officer and head of a South American copper joint venture, and previously held senior roles at engineering firm Ausenco.

Donkin said he was delighted to join the company at such an exciting stage of its development, noting that it has built an enviable reputation for delivering on its promises, which will remain a focus, while also considering opportunities to further increase production and reduce costs at Eloise.
AIC Mines owns the Eloise and Jericho copper mines, both high-grade underground operations southeast of Cloncurry in the Northwest Queensland Minerals Province. The company is on track to produce 25,000 to 27,000 tonnes of copper concentrate in 2028-29, approximately double its current output.
Current Managing Director Aaron Colleran will transition to Non-Executive Chairman after Donkin takes office. Colleran joined the company in 2019 when it was an exploration company called AIC Resources, and transformed it into a copper producer through the acquisitions of Eloise and Jericho. Colleran said the company has assembled a high-quality team in recent years, transforming the Eloise copper mine into a reliable, long-life, and sizable asset. The board and he believe it is the right time to appoint a Managing Director with extensive operational experience to lead the company's next phase of development.
Current Non-Executive Chairman Josef El-Raghy will retire from the board after nine years of service.
Donkin said he looks forward to working closely with the board, employees, and stakeholders to continue building the company and creating sustainable long-term value for shareholders.
