en.Wedoany.com Reported - Kremsmüller Industrieanlagenbau KG has purchased an Omnimat CNC cutting system from Messer Cutting Systems to enhance the precision and depth of processing for large workpieces such as pipes and container heads. This Austrian family-owned company, with approximately 2,300 employees, serves industries including petrochemicals, energy, environmental technology, metallurgy, paper, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals in equipment manufacturing. Since cutting deviations directly negatively impact subsequent welding, the company demands extremely high processing quality. As requirements continued to increase, existing equipment showed limitations in pipe cutting, beveling, and container head processing. The company decided to modernize and expand its processing depth, ultimately selecting a CNC cutting platform capable of simultaneously handling flame cutting, plasma cutting, bevel cutting, pipe processing, container head processing, and marking.
Procurement decision criteria also included fast response times, service availability in Austria, and structured project execution. Messer Cutting Systems won the contract with clearly defined milestones and structured project planning. The Omnimat system is designed for large workpieces, with a cutting table area of 4000 × 18000 mm, featuring a gantry structure for intuitive operation and high precision. The system has two cutting zones separated by a partition, with positioning speeds up to 50 meters per minute, high acceleration, and rapid height adjustment to reduce auxiliary time. The project teams from both sides coordinated closely, continuing this collaboration until the project concluded in July 2025. The first cut was achieved just three and a half weeks after installation began, and the integration of the pipe rotation axis and container head processing were also successfully implemented.
