Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 15, The German Federal Network Agency has allocated 2,271 MW of capacity in its latest tender for ground-mounted and select non-building solar installations, held on July 1, 2025. The auction saw strong participation, with 313 bids totaling 2,820 MW competing for the 2,266 MW available.
Out of the total bids, 258 were successful, while 36 were excluded. The awarded prices ranged from €0.04 per kWh to €0.0626 per kWh, with an average volume-weighted price of €0.0484 per kWh. This marks a slight increase from the previous auction’s average of €0.0466 per kWh.
Bavaria led the allocations, securing 689 MW across 106 projects. Rhineland-Palatinate followed with 251 MW, and Lower Saxony obtained 250 MW. The competitive nature of the auction ensured that award prices remained well below the maximum threshold, fostering stable conditions for participants.
Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency, stated: “Competition was keeping award prices well below the ceiling level and creating reliable conditions for bidders.” This reflects the robust interest in Germany’s solar sector and the effectiveness of the tender process in supporting renewable energy development.
The next auction for this category is scheduled for December 1, 2025. The continued oversubscription and competitive pricing demonstrate strong market confidence in Germany’s solar energy initiatives, contributing to the country’s renewable energy goals.
