Wedoany.com News - Recently, Orlen Neptune, the offshore assets subsidiary of Polish energy giant Orlen SA, signed a land reservation agreement with the Kołobrzeg Seaport Authority. This agreement secures land for the construction of a dedicated service port for its planned large-scale offshore wind project, Baltic West, marking a substantial step forward in the project's development.

According to the agreement, Orlen Neptune will reserve land at the Kołobrzeg Port, which is considered the optimal location for servicing the wind farm due to its proximity to the project site. The Baltic West project is located in the Odra Bank area and comprises four licensed blocks, with a planned total installed capacity of approximately 4 GW. It is expected to supply electricity to over 5 million Polish households. This project is the second major initiative being advanced by the Orlen Group under the second phase of Poland's offshore wind development. Its first project, the 900 MW Baltic East, recently won Poland's inaugural offshore wind support auction. All four blocks are prepared to participate in Poland's offshore wind support system, with the project planned to be fully operational by 2040. This port reservation is a critical infrastructure step to ensure the future operation and maintenance of the wind farm.
