en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 6, Ecowende advanced its 760MW offshore wind project in the Netherlands and achieved first power delivery. The offshore wind project, jointly participated by Shell, Eneco, and Japan's Chubu Electric Power, is officially named Hollandse Kust West VI, located approximately 53 kilometers off the Dutch coast near the IJmuiden sea area. After connecting to TenneT's offshore high-voltage transmission infrastructure, it has begun delivering renewable electricity to the Dutch onshore grid.

The Ecowende offshore wind project plans to install 52 Vestas V236-15.0 MW wind turbines, with the first 15MW turbine having been hoisted in June. Offshore construction commenced at the end of 2025, and the project is now transitioning from first power delivery to subsequent turbine installation, system commissioning, and preparation for commercial power supply. According to Eneco's disclosure, the Ecowende offshore wind project is expected to achieve full commercial power supply by the end of this year.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 3.3 TWh of electricity annually, equivalent to about 3% of the Netherlands' total electricity demand. Power users of the project include Google, LyondellBasell, and Dutch food and agriculture-related enterprises. After the Ecowende offshore wind project enters the power delivery phase, subsequent focus will be on the installation of remaining turbines, offshore operation and maintenance arrangements, electricity trading, and grid balancing services. For the Netherlands, this offshore wind project will increase clean electricity supply in the North Sea region and provide a power base for long-term power purchase agreements by large enterprises.
