Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 16, The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that the United States will add over 16 GW of wind and nearly 60 GW of solar capacity between the end of 2024 and the end of 2026, reinforcing efforts to expand clean energy infrastructure.
At the end of 2024, U.S. wind generation capacity stood at approximately 152 GW, with the EIA projecting an increase to 168.5 GW by 2026. Solar capacity is expected to grow from 122.6 GW to 182.6 GW over the same timeframe, driven by significant investments in renewable energy projects.
Henrik Andersen, CEO of Vestas, said: “I envision growth in the US wind sector between now and 2030.” He noted ongoing talks with U.S. customers, with Vestas securing 950 MW of turbine orders in its third-quarter intake, contributing to the sector’s expansion.
These developments reflect the U.S.’s focus on advancing renewable energy, supported by technological innovation and market demand, positioning it as a leader in sustainable energy growth.
